Continuing our Do You collaboration with UAE photographer Conél van Zyl, we joined her on a shoot in Al Satwa, Dubai as she discovers the connection between dancers and their surroundings.
"I think photographing the old, abandoned and very modern sceneries of the cities has had an influence on my style. It means having fun in my favourite pair of comfortable, yet stylish jeans, going on adventures with my army jacket on, and dressing up like a 90's character with my plaid shirt. Gap gives me the opportunity to connect with my style and feel good about it."
Dubai based photographer Conél van Zyl constantly looks for creative and artistic ways to show off the world through her photography.
When heading out on a photo adventure in Old Dubai, she needs to be comfortable enough to move around in order to capture that perfect shot. "I love working with dancers, taking them out of the studios and placing them in unique backgrounds, for example, in a colorful neighbourhood".
Conél wears a pair of high-waisted black skinny jeans with a white 1969 Gap logo t-shirt, and an army green utility jacket.
